I am trying to program a DirecTV remote for a Coby TV and do not have the Coby TV Remote Codes. Coby TF-TV1901 19 in. ON MOST REMOTES: Turn on the TV. Press and hold the TV and SEL buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The button will light. With the button lit, point the remote at the TV and enter the TV's 3, 4, or 5 digit code. Verify by pressing the VOLUME + button. Press the TV button to store the 3, 4, or 5 digit code.
If you have DirecTV, and you plan to purchase a new TV, you must set up your DirecTV remote control to your new TV. This is a fairly simple process that is no different than programming any universal remote to control your entertainment devices.
Program Remote From Setup Menu
Go to your DirecTV main menu by clicking the 'Menu' button on your DirecTV remote control. Scroll down and choose 'Parental, FAVS and Setup.' Choose the 'System Setup' option from the drop-down menu.
Scroll down and choose the 'Remote' option. Choose the 'Program Remote' option from the window that appears.
Choose the 'AV1' option from the next window. Choose the 'TV' option and select your brand of television from the list.

Follow the programming steps prompted by DirecTV to program your remote to your new TV.
Program Remote Using Codes
Navigate to DirecTV's website at directv.com and run a search for 'remote codes' in the search engine.
Pull up the remote code list DirecTV offers and look up the control codes for your particular TV. Write the codes down.
Turn your TV on.
Switch your DirecTV's remote to the 'TV' option at the top of the control.
Engage and hold your 'Mute' button while simultaneously holding down the 'Select' button. Release both when the green light on top of the remote flashes twice.
Enter the first code from your list of codes and wait for the remote's green light to flash twice again.
Hit the 'PWR' button on the DirecTV remote to try and turn off your TV. If your new TV turns off, this is the correct code for your remote control.
Repeat Steps 5, 6 and 7 until you find the correct code if the first code did not work. You might have to try all of the codes before finding the right one.
Tips
If you cannot find a code for your TV's model, search for the appropriate code. Press and hold the 'Mute' and 'Select' buttons until the green light flashes twice. Enter '9911' to put your remote into search mode. Press the 'Channel Up' button repeatedly until your TV turns off. Wait a few seconds before each tap to give the remote time to see if the code works.

DirecTV remotes generally operate off the code 10463. To input this you should turn your TV on, press the TV button, and hold the mute and select buttons. This will make the LED blink twice, at which point you enter the code on the keypad and should try the TV.
If this doesn’t work then instead try holding the ‘Setup’ button until the TV light goes off. Enter ‘991’ on your remote control, again using the numeric pad. The LED light again should blink twice. If it does then aim your remote at the TV then actually press ‘TV’ and then the Power Button. If the set turns off then while it’s off press ‘Setup’ to lock the code in.
DirecTV are affiliated with Sansui so use the same codes, so if this code doesn’t work you can try theirs. The same application method is used too, so their instruction manuals will be useful.
Some instructions mention using a ‘thumbs up’ key and a ‘thumbs down’ key. If your instructions do this then note that the green key is up and the red is down.
If none of this helps then DirecTV themselves advise that you undertake a manual search. For this you need to turn on your TV and slide the ‘Mode’ switch to the TV, AV1 or AV2 position, as desired. You then press and hold both ‘Mute’ and ‘Select’ until the green light under the selected TV mode switch flashes twice, then release. Enter 991, followed by another 1. Point the remote at the TV and press CHAN+. Keep pressing this until the TV turns off. Each press of CHAN+ is moving the remove to the next code. When the TV eventually turns off stop pressing CHAN+ and instead press then release the ‘Select’ key.
If the light flashes 3 times before the TV responds you’ve cycled through all the base codes and your TV is specific and requires the original remote.
